How the matter was handled
A temporary residence and employment permit was coming up to its expiry date. A renewal does not settle itself: the requirements of Organic Law 4/2000 and of the Regulation approved by Royal Decree 1155/2024 must be evidenced again, one by one, and within the deadline. One badly documented requirement and what was already settled is lost.
We assembled the file, checked that no piece was missing and lodged the application with the Madrid Immigration Office in August 2026.
The Government Delegation in Madrid decided in September 2026: 16 days from filing. It granted the renewal for four years.
The permit runs from September 2026 to September 2030. Four years without renewing again — the kind of horizon on which things can actually be planned: a contract, a move, long-term residence when the time comes.
Every case is unique: it depends on its facts, its evidence and the authority deciding it. The outcome of one matter does not anticipate the outcome of any other, and the timescales given here are the ones that particular file took: they are set by the authorities, not by us.
