How the matter was handled
The relative of a Spanish citizen needed a residence permit of their own. The family link on its own grants nothing before the authorities: it has to be proved and applied for through the right channel, with every requirement documented.
We prepared the application for temporary residence as the relative of a Spanish citizen and filed it with the Madrid Immigration Office in July 2026.
The Government Delegation granted it in August: 37 days of processing, and five years of validity.
The decision does not close the road, it opens it: next come the visa at the consulate — which must be applied for within one month of notification — and then, once in Spain, the appointment for the residence card.
Every case is unique: it depends on its facts, its evidence and the authority deciding it. The outcome of one matter does not anticipate the outcome of any other, and the timescales given here are the ones that particular file took: they are set by the authorities, not by us.
