What we do
- We establish which court has jurisdiction and which law applies before anything else begins.
- We handle recognition and enforcement in Spain of decisions issued abroad, and the reverse.
- We arrange the legalisation and apostille of foreign documents, and their sworn translation.
- We apply for the registration in the Civil Registry of events that took place outside Spain: marriages, births, divorces.
- We act in estates with assets or heirs in more than one country.
- We draft international contracts setting the applicable law and forum from the outset.
What people usually bring us
- A document from your country that no counter here will accept.
- A divorce decree issued abroad that still does not appear in Spanish records.
- An estate with part of the assets in another country.
- A contract signed with a foreign company that has stopped performing.
An international matter depends on two legal systems and sometimes on a treaty between the two countries. The first thing we will do is tell you whether that route exists: some documents and decisions simply have no place in Spain, and knowing it on day one saves money on a closed road.
