How the matter was handled
A temporary residence and employment permit was reaching its expiry date. Under the Regulation approved by Royal Decree 1155/2024 a renewal is still a full examination: the Immigration Office checks the requirements of Organic Law 4/2000 again, one by one, and cross-checks them against the authorities’ own records. Years of work do not make the step automatic.
We assembled the documents and lodged the application with the Madrid Immigration Office in August 2026, ordered so that the examination would not have to stop and ask for anything.
The Government Delegation in Madrid decided in September 2026: 31 days from filing. It granted the renewal for four years.
The permit runs from September 2026 to September 2030. The grant does not close the file: the decision itself points out that the Foreigner Identity Card has to be applied for separately, by appointment at the police unit and within one month of the grant. This is the third four-year renewal the firm publishes.
Every case is unique: it depends on its facts, its evidence and the authority deciding it. The outcome of one matter does not anticipate the outcome of any other, and the timescales given here are the ones that particular file took: they are set by the authorities, not by us.
